Summer. The time where we check ourselves out of reality for a few short months to enjoy the sun and gain a healthy glow. If you're an...
Living in London in one of the busiest cities with skycrapers and tall architectural buildings, you sometimes forget that there is such a thing as nature. London is a beautiful city to live in and I am very lucky to be at the heart of it with the London eye and Big Ben being just around the corner. But sometimes you just want to take a step back and be at one with nature.
After having a friend visit, we decided to do something a bit different seeing as the sun was shining and we simply didn't want to be cooped up inside at a gallery or exhibition. London is known for being able to do 101 different things a day, yet sometimes it can be hard to narrow it down to just one. However, after a very long debate, we decided to rent out a Pedalo on The Serpentine Lake at Hyde Park.
The journey there allowed me to build up a little anxiety to go boating with a friend with no sense of co-ordination. Yet we continued on and found ourselves stepping onto the pedalo with no idea how to use it. Of course the man who helped us on board hardly spoke English and soon pushed us away telling us 'left is right and right is left.' Nonetheless, I managed to pick up how to steer pretty quickly, considering I don't know my left from my right, and we were off pedaling around the Serpentine.
The weather was perfect and the view was amazing! No matter how nervous I was, the trip was very worth it. It was one of the funnest things I have done, laughing, avoiding crashing into people and swans!!
If you ever want to escape the hectic nature of London without leaving the city, visiting a somewhere like Hyde Park is the place for it. Being on the lake surrounded by nature even with the tall buildings lingering in the background, you feel as though London is a million miles away.
Now that Summer is well and truly here, with the tree's blossoming a beautiful pink and the sky turning bright blue, the fresh breeze ...
I first spotted this mint lazer cut out scalloped mini dress, and fell in love! The price didn't hurt either, I bet you can't guess it... okay I'll tell you, £20! (P.s. You can still purchase them here ). Then I noticed it in this dusky blue colour and couldn't not get it. My indecisive nature left me with no choice but to purchase both colours, it also comes in several other colours too, but these stood out the most to me for summer.
So recently I've been looking for some new going out outfits that are a little more summery; seeing as my wardrobe is pretty black and w...

Face
1. Highlighter
This is my new best friend! Using highlighter, especially in the summer with a tan really brightens your face and gives you a healthy glow. It also gives you that picture ready look, with that little bit of shimmer( I'm usually totally against glitter) catching the light in all the right places and photo-shopping your face to perfection.
2. Contour
This clearly links with the first beauty hack. Contouring has become the new things, with more fun ways to contour your face being tutorialized to the max. Obviously you don't have to go the extreme, but contouring shapes the face to give more definition, focusing on the cheekbones, sides of your nose, jaw and hairline.
3. Moisturizer under eyes to stop wrinkle lines showing
Now this is something I have recently discovered. By using a little eye cream before applying concealer plumps the skin and fills all those little lines, stopping creases forming under the eyes throughout the day.
Eyes
1. Eyelash Curlers
This has to be one of my most go-to beauty items. Using an eyelash curler before applying mascara really opens up your eyes and gives you the appearance of longer lashes. So to all those people with small shorter lashes, (meee) this is the trick for you!
2. Eyeliner on the waterline
Many people often make the mistake of using black eyeliner in the lower waterline to give a more smokey eye effect. However, using a nude of white alternative gives the appearance of bigger eyes. By using the black kohl eyeliner in the upper waterline, just under the lashes (weird I know) still gives you a little smokey look, whilst also providing the appearance of longer lashes
Lips
1. Powder up those lips
This is an easy one, after you've put on your lipstick in the morning, cover it with a tissue and brush loose powder over. The use of the powder gives the same effect as it would applying it all over your face, longer lasting make up. You also will see less of those stains on your coffee mug.
2. Concealer around your lip line
This may sound odd, but trust me this works. After you have applied your lipstick and powder for the day, applying a thin layer of concealer around your lip line will stop that moisturizing lipstick you love from seeping into the lines around your lips throughout the day.
These are just a few of the beauty hacks I have discovered over the years, I'm still constantly learning new tricks, but I hope these help your make up journey.
Every girl knows the reality and stresses make up can bring. From smudging mascara, to an oily complexion, these simple beauty hacks will...
1. Rimmel London Highlighter
This is one of my go-to products, even if I'm not wearing a lot of make up that day, I will still reach for my highlighter. I decided to try this brand as I have previously read so many positive reviews for it. After trying it, I can't fault it! This 25ml bottle priced at £4.99 (bargain I know!!) also comes in three different shades, I think I'm in love.
2. White Nail Polish
After reaching into my pot of the unkown that is my nail polish box, searching for a summery colour to paint my nails, I found some white nail polish, and thought why not! I have become obsessed! White is my new black (well for the summer at least). I think what I like best is how it is naturally bright and makes me look super tanned.
3. Pretty Little Liars
This isn't a new favourite of mine, I have been watching this show since the pilot of the first series aired and have been constantly hooked; but since its been back with yet another ground breaking series with some answers being revealed, but for every one answer given, ten more questions need to be answered, it had to go on my favourites list!
3. RiverIsland Sunglasses
I think this is an obvious one, more of a necessity due to the sunny weather we've been having. But what I like most about these sunglasses is their slightly cat eye shape, and the contrasting sides.
4. New Look Heeled Sandals
The main reason for these shoes being in my favourites, besides their colour, is their comfort! These shoes as super comfy to wear, which makes them perfect for one of those day to night outfits.
5. MaxFactor Waterproof Mascara
Everytime summer comes around, this becomes my summer mascara. It is by far the best waterproof mascara I have used! It does not come off in water! I would say, however, is that it is a little harder to take off in the evening, but it is definitely worth it.
6. New Look Watch >>Similar Here
This is a very recent purchase, for work actually. I'm not usually a watch person, but I've kind of fallen in love with it. I love the big clock, the rose gold floral design in it, and the thin white strap. It's an all in one.
I could go on forever about everything and anything I loved throughout June, and narrowing it down to six was hard but we got there!
Yet another month has passed by and it's time for a favourites blog to appear. This is a bit of a mix of fashion, beauty and stuff,...

1. A TRIANGL Bikini
2. PublicDesire shoes
Obviously I love every shoe that is of PublicDesire origin, but these in particular caught my attention. I'm all about a classic heeled stiletto, they are perfect for everything! But this Leona heeled sandal design has cut out back detail, its white and a gold effect toe! Talk about an all in one, did I also mention its only £24.99! How could you not love them.
3. St. Tropez Gradual Tan In Shower
Everything about this product just screams purchase me! The huge surge of positive reviews have made this an essential product to try.The easy streak free application in the shower and moisturizing qualities make it sound soo desirable. Plus, everyone loves an easy tan, giving you a healthy sun kissed glow.
4.Miss Selfridge Striped Shirt Dress
A shirt dress has way more many uses than you may first think, it sounds so casual I know. But many now with the new styles and materials means they are so versatile. You can dress them up in heels and a clutch, or dress down in sandals and a bikini. This particular shirt dress stood out to me because of the striped pattern, stripes are so big this summer and well.. every summer, so you can't go wrong!
5. RiverIsland Mini Tote Bag
Now I actually have a similar black one to this, but thought a new summer handbag was needed. At the moment, you may be able to tell that white and gold is my favourite combination for the summer, and this bag would definitely be a perfect addition to the wardrobe collection. The plain colour pallette means that it will match with basically everything.

Yup, it's true, its officially the summer season. I don't think I'm going to be able to get over how fast this year has actually gone. But it's time to soak up the sun and get a tan. Here are 21 thoughts a girl has now that summer is here...
1. Wait what? Summer? I thought it was.....oh crap!
3. Meh, I'll start tomorrow
4. That definitely means it's time to wax those legs, they've been hidden from the world for a year
5. I didn't realize skin could be this soft! (Make sure everyone feels your legs)
6. Damn I sure am pale, how fast can I get a tan?
7. I guess its the perfect excuse to get a new wardrobe
8. Not that I ever need an excuse to buy new clothes
9. But it's not like I have anything appropriate to wear, my wardrobe is essentially all black
10. How much colour do I have to inject into my wardrobe?
11. Just have to figure out how to get effortless beach waves
12. This hair took an hour, I'd hardly call that effortless
13. I think I'm going to try and be healthy this summer
14. That's doubtful (reach for a tub of Ben and Jerry's)
15. I need to create a new summer playlist
16.What's a good summer book I can read?
17. I'm going to make sure I don't waste this summer doing nothing
18. Make a list of everything I want to accomplish
19. I'm never even going to get half way through this list
20. Heelllloo beach
21. Eugh, I forgot how much I hate sand
What are your plans for the summer?

You probably don't know this about me, but I love a good statement necklace. However, what you may know is that I love all that is black and white. Matching these two trends together create such beautiful outfits as you are drawn straight to your attention seeking necklace, without discarding the rest.

- A large bottle of water to stay hydrated and its super good for your skin.
- A healthy snack for when you're feeling peckish, I chose apples as they are very easy (although ice cream is also a must)!
- A nice little book for entertainment- I'm currently reading 'Looking For Alaska' by John Green. I have to say he is an incredible author and if you've read 'The Fault In Our Stars' you will know what I mean. Somehow he can capture a number of emotions within a few words, from making you laugh to bringing you to tears (which has so far happened in every book of his I've had the pleasure of reading).
- Deodorant(Total Defense), I actually couldn't find my mini spray so I had to take a full size one.
- Some body spray to smell pretty all day, instead of a sweaty beachy smell (eww). I am currently obsessed with Soap And Glory and carry it with me like a bible, It smells incredible and so summery.
- A bottle of sea salt spray( Phil Smith Xtreme Style Sea Salt Wave Spray) to keep your hair looking textured and volumised throughout the day.
- Aftersun(Garnier Ambre Solaire) for when you are leaving the beach to keep your skin hydrated and prevent dry skin.
- Sun cream(Malibu) to apply throughout the day to protect and prevent your skin from damaging. I have to admit i brought this sunscreen just for the smell!
- A hair brush( Primark) incase your hair suddenly becomes a mess like mine
- Some face wipes(garnier Cleansing Wipes) to remove excess makeup like mascara and eyeliner under the eye (an ongoing problem).
- Lastly, a pair of headphones. This has to be my most important item, I can't leave the house without them. Music is such a good distraction and great entertainment too, everybody loves music!!
Cant leave those sunnies behind!
Topshop- grey leopard print sunglasses (around £18).

- Compact Mirror ( QVS) just in case of emergency, although its not really essential, just a preferred item.
- Tinted Moisturiser (Nivea) which I prefer to use in the summer as a lighter coverage, compared to foundation.
- Bronzer (Bonjour 51) to add a little colour and definition to your face.
- Bronzing brush (Ecotools).
- Blusher brush (Ecotools). I love these brushes for their shape and feel, they are ridiculously soft to the skin.
- Blusher(N07 12 Coral Flush) I have used this a lot recently, as you can see I've hit the pan. It's definitely a summer blusher and i will be repurchasing this item shortly.
- Then you have the basic items-Tissues, Vaseline (limited edition red) and hair grips/ties.
- Waterproof Mascara(Max Factor-False Lash Effect) for going in the ocean. It's also handy to prevent smudging.
- More basics -Hand Cream (Soap&Glory), Moisturising face and body cream (Nivea) and hand sanitiser.
As we have all established, summer is finally here, so I thought I would do a little blog post on my beach essentials. For many, going ...
